The Fastest College Logos on Earth
School spirit can now reach speeds of 500 mph and an altitude of 41,000 feet, thanks to a co-branding initiative launched by Seattle-based Horizon Air. Late last year, Horizon reached out to CLC clients Oregon State, Washington, and Washington State to brand select aircraft with school colors and logos. The University of Oregon is also on board. This program has garnered significant media coverage both regionally and nationally with stories in the USA Today and the Sports Business Journal.

Friday Blues in Flagstaff
Northern Arizona University has the city of Flagstaff feeling blue on Friday, but in a good way. The University launched a grassroots initiative last fall for NAU fans and supporters and the citizens of Flagstaff called True Blue Fridays. Since President John Haeger signed a decree to encourage the NAU community to wear NAU colors and gear every Friday, many in the community have enthusiastically begun to show their pride by wearing NAU gear. The initiative has been promoted via a spirited ad campaign in local stores, on the radio, during athletic events, and on television. NAU licensing royalties are on pace to eclipse last year’s record total.
Be true, wear NAU!
BYU and Utah Set to Duel – Who will Survive?
Here’s a program that Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton might have taken an interest in.
The Deseret First Duel, a rivalry series between BYU and Utah involves 12 sports in which the two universities meet in head-to-head competition during regular-season play. A points system has been put in place with a trophy awarded to the duel’s survivor. The Utah-BYU rivalry is one of the oldest and strongest in the country. In November 2005, the Wall Street Journal rated the rivalry the fourth best in college athletics.
