The Collegiate Licensing Company Names Top Selling Universities and Manufacturers
ATLANTA, Ga., (August 16, 2011) – As it celebrates its 30th year of business, The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), a division of IMG Worldwide, today announced its annual list of top-selling institutions and manufacturers. These rankings represent royalties reported July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011 on all collegiate merchandise sold on behalf of CLC-represented institutions.
The retail marketplace for college licensed merchandise in 2010 was estimated at $4.3 billion. Royalties generated from the sale of officially licensed collegiate products go back to the institutions to support various student and campus endeavors, therefore it is important for consumers to ensure the merchandise they purchase is officially licensed.
Notes of interest:
·This marked the sixth consecutive year The University of Texas at Austin ranked No. 1 in CLC’s fiscal year-end rankings.
·Auburn University moved from No. 15 to No. 4 due in part to the success of its National Championship season.

Knights Apparel is the largest supplier of collegiate apparel to Walmart and the mass/discount retail channel. Prior to the 2009-10 fiscal year, Nike USA Inc. held the position of top apparel licensee since 1999.
·EA Sports has maintained its No.1 status in non-apparel licensees since Q3 of 2003.
