The Collegiate Licensing Company Expands Internationally
CLC International and Mycroft International Team to Bring the Fashion of American Colleges and Universities to Europe

ATLANTA, Ga., (December 1, 2005) - In the United States, collegiate product is one of the largest and most diverse categories in the licensed product industry. The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) is now hoping to build on its success in the U.S. by expanding globally with the formation of CLC International (CLCI).

To assist in its efforts overseas, CLCI has chosen London-based Mycroft International as its agency of record. Mycroft International has been a presence in the European licensing community for over fifteen years and has represented the University of Cambridge’s worldwide licensing program.

“Mycroft International has an impeccable record of maintaining the integrity of licensed products and fighting for the protection of its client’s marks,” said Chris Prindiville, vice president of CLC International. We are very fortunate that Mycroft shares in our vision, and we’re eager to work with them to expand the presence of collegiate licensed goods throughout Europe.”

“European consumers desire to have traditional well-known products,” said Chris Groves, managing director of Mycroft International. “Our partnership with CLC International will ultimately give Europeans a greater selection of American-themed University gear than they’ve been accustomed to in the past.”

Key licensees already successful in marketing collegiate licensed product such as headwear and apparel in Europe include Champion Europe, Majestic and New Era.

“The U.S. College category of our Pan European apparel business has been showing signs of steady growth in recent years, so we’re excited CLC International will be helping to grow the marketplace by promoting its University brands across the region,” said Chris Haggerty, general manager of licensed apparel, Champion Europe. “Traditionally, a large percentage of our U.S. College sales have come from our Southern European territories, particularly Italy, however, we are delighted that our other markets, such as Central and Northern Europe, are now increasing their distribution in this important category.”
