ATLANTA, Ga., (Jan. 24, 2013) – The Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC), an affiliate of IMG College, today announced it has reached an agreement with Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) to manage its domestic U.S. trademark licensing program effective immediately.
“Eastern Kentucky University is pleased to announce its partnership with The Collegiate Licensing Company as its exclusive trademark licensing representative,” said Dr. Doug Whitlock, President, Eastern Kentucky University. “CLC administers the licensing programs of more than 200 collegiate properties across the U.S., and I am certain they will help EKU expand the commercial products that bear the University’s logos and insignias to more retailers in the future. We believe that by working with CLC, we will further expand the program, which will be beneficial for both the University and its licensees,” he added.
Eastern Kentucky University will gain access to the leading brand protection, brand management, and brand development services that CLC currently provides to its nearly 200 collegiate partners in the $4.6 billion collegiate licensed segment of the retail market. EKU’s partnership with CLC will also allow the University to leverage best-in-class licensees, tap into key retailers, and advance its goals and marketplace position.
“We are honored by the opportunity to represent Eastern Kentucky University,” said Brian White, CLC’s Vice President of Partner Services. “The University is one of the leading brands in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the Ohio Valley Conference and plans to fully leverage CLC’s resources to promote its brand in the marketplace and to enter into new markets. We look forward to maximizing the University’s licensing program by helping to connect its passionate fans to the EKU brand.”
Eastern Kentucky University joins the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, and Western Kentucky University as the fourth institution in the Commonwealth of Kentucky represented by CLC.
