IMG COLLEGE LICENSING AND VIRGINIA TECH EXTEND PARTNERSHIP
ATLANTA, GA (July 13, 2017)
– IMG College Licensing today announced a multi-year extension of its partnership agreement with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) to continue managing the school’s successful trademark licensing program. IMG College Licensing began its partnership with Virginia Tech in 2012.
“IMG College Licensing provides insight into the licensing marketplace and provides the tools and strategies we need to grow the Virginia Tech brand at retail,” said Melanie Schramm, Virginia Tech’s Director of Marketing. “The IMG College team understands the unique goals and attributes of the University and has become a valuable part of our Virginia Tech team.”
Virginia Tech achieved record royalties during this past 2015-16 fiscal year. Building on that momentum, IMG College Licensing will continue to work with Virginia Tech to create customized brand management and marketing strategies to grow the University’s brand while increasing sales of officially licensed products. The University is working with IMG College Licensing to develop a portfolio of best-in-class licensees, including co-branded programs with consumer brand companies such as Yeti and Vera Bradley.
Virginia Tech is also utilizing IMG College Licensing’s proprietary reporting systems and global consumer insights to develop marketing and licensing strategies to reach consumers across the country through a variety of retail channels and stores. Officially-licensed product for Virginia Tech is now sold by more than 2,200 unique retail accounts across the country.

IMG is also the multimedia rights holder for all of Virginia Tech athletics programs, which includes broadcast, sponsorship and advertising rights, as well as signage at Lane Stadium, Cassell Coliseum and other athletic venues.
